30th Annual Crystal Rose Celebration Honors HOM Community Partners
DETROIT, August 20, 2015 – Arbor Hospice will host Chandeliers in the City, the 30th annual Crystal Rose Celebration, on Thursday, Oct. 1 at the former J.L. Hudson Co. warehouse in Detroit.
The offices of Campbell Ewald and Jack Morton Worldwide will throw open their doors at 5:30 p.m. to host Detroit Mayor Michael Duggan and his wife, Lori, who will welcome sponsors for a pre-glow reception. The main event will begin at 6 p.m. with a strolling dinner catered by Forte Belanger.
Chandeliers in the City, which promises an evening of urban elegance, honors the following organizational and community partners:

“Our annual Crystal Rose Celebration gives us the opportunity to thank and recognize those who are committed to the success of Arbor Hospice’s vision and mission,” said Robert Cahill, president and CEO of Arbor Hospice. “Last year, we transitioned the event from the traditional black-tie dinner to a more casual yet elegant evening that celebrates Detroit.
“We’re continuing the tradition this year by hosting the event at another iconic Detroit location: the former Hudson warehouse. We’re very excited about our new venue, which is rich with Detroit history but rarely open to the public.”
The former Hudson warehouse, which is attached to Ford Field, was converted into commercial office space after it closed in 1995. In addition to the Campbell Ewald and Jack Morton offices, the facility is also home to the law firm Bodman PLC.
The event, held at 2000 Brush St., includes an open bar, complimentary valet parking and entertainment by Ben Sharkey, Detroit’s own jazz crooner.
A Crystal Rose Award will be presented to each honoree. The image of the rose honors HOM’s roots as a volunteer-based organization and an early practice of placing a single long-stemmed red rose on the bed of a patient after death in memory of his or her life.
Proceeds from the dinner will support HOM’s ongoing nonprofit mission to provide comfort and care to all those in need of its services regardless of diagnosis, age or ability to pay.
