ROYAL OAK, Mich. (Sept. 3, 2019) – Metro Detroit and Southeast Michigan residents are invited to come out and fly a kite to honor their lost loved ones during the 2019 Fly and Remember event. The annual, uplifting ceremony will take place Saturday, September 14 from 10 a.m. until noon at Starr Jaycee Park, located at 1101 W. 13 Mile Rd. in Royal Oak. Participation is free.
Hosted by Arbor Hospice and its partners, Henry Ford SandCastles and A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Homes, Fly and Remember offers an enjoyable opportunity to remember and celebrate those who live on in our memories. Participants are encouraged to reflect on their relationship with a loved one, regardless of how recent their loss might be, by personalizing and flying a kite in their honor. Kite-making materials will be provided at no cost. Attendees may bring their own kite or choose to use one that will be provided by Arbor Hospice. Singer Al Bettis will also provide additional entertainment by performing his hit single “It Is Beautiful.”
All are welcome to attend Fly and Remember, regardless of whether their loved one received care from Arbor Hospice. Hot dogs and light snacks will also be served.
To register for the 2019 Fly and Remember event, please contact Wesley Lawton at 586.263.8514 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
